CB quest meets with success

By Paul Rolly and JoAnn Jacobsen-Wells

Since we wrote Wednesday about Salt Lake City resident Bill Taylor's quest to send 12 citizens band radios to his son Mark's 445th Transportation Company in Iraq, the response has been overwhelming.
Radio personalities Scott Fisher and Laura Bedore on Power 107.9 took up the cause and have received pledges of about two dozen radios so far, as well as cash donations to buy radios, batteries and other supplies for the troops.
Some employees at Albertsons stores began putting out jars to collect money for the radios. Gary Dudley, of the Centurion Group Inc., offered to donate the 12 radios. Neal Staley, 77, of Alpine, plans to drive to Salt Lake City with his four CB radios. Several truckers also have offered help, and the radio station is setting up a fund to continue raising money and supplies for troops beyond just the 445th.
